Raptor Model (1:12 scale but with 1:6 parts)

Built to scale alongside a Rider figure but uses the 1:6 pieces. This model is based on the Dakotaraptor’s sleek and powerful form. I’ve kept the skeletal structure true to its skeletal proportions with a fleshed out head to maintain a lifelike appearance. While current research suggests raptors had wings, I opted for a wingless design to prioritize stability and give artists the freedom to interpret feathers or other features as they see fit.

Unique Tibia Design

The model features a newly designed tibia with a knee joint at the ankle, offering full flexion and enhanced stability. This unique addition ensures naturalistic posing while maintaining balance, though each foot uses a single magnet, so a bit of patience is needed for standing poses. For those who prefer more flexibility, you can swap the tibia and feet for a conventional digitigrade design with a ball joint.

Customization

This A9 Raptor is built using our 1:6 part designs (large parts). So you can modify it with add-ons from my Large Bones section, such as alternative limbs, claws, or even wing attachments to reflect the latest paleontological insights. Want to tweak the proportions? Shorten or extend the body by adjusting spine segments to create your own dino variant. Or swap heads for more clever designs (more dinosaur head variants coming)

Handcrafted in Washington

Every A9 figure is handcrafted right here in Washington (parts are made AND assembled), with care and attention to every detail. For me, this is more than just a product—it’s a way to share something I love with people who are just as passionate about creativity, anatomy, and design.

Accessories and Warranty
All figures come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. While they do not include an extended warranty, individual replacement pieces can be purchased separately (see links below). Additionally, platforms and stands, which are no longer included with the figure, can be found on our accessories page. These add-ons provide extra stability and customization options, enhancing your creative experience with the Ranger.

WHAT IS ARMATURE NINE?

Armature Nine (or A9-RIG) is a revolutionary collection of articulated products. They were first designed and released in 2012 and have been awarded multiple patents.

In 2012 A9 made history by becoming the first ever mass produced 3D printed product with now thousands of units circulating internationally to over fifty countries around the world. The A9 bipeds remain to this day, the only artist manikins that can achieve every pose humanly possible.

WHAT IS THE A9-RIG FOR?

All the A9-RIGS can be used for a variety of things. In fact, over the years I've heard from: Sketch artists that use them to derive proper proportional reference in perspective. Painters use them for light and shadow reference. Sculptors use them to produce quick sculptural studies. Animators use our rigs for stop-motion studies or even short films. Photographers use them as props. Yoga teachers and massage therapists use them as decorative items in their studios. Dance teachers use them as visual aids. Doctors have used them as anatomical reference in their practice. And I've even heard from parents and grandparents that use them as educational tools for their children & grandchildren. A9 is truly the most versatile proportionately accurate manikin on the market.
